W „Cyklu białym” Atheny Farrokhzad członkowie rodziny, których łączy doświadczenie rewolucji i migracji, mówią o przemocy i bieli. Głos lirycznego ja pojawia się tu wyłącznie w formie cytatów przytaczanych przez krewnych, cytatów, które na przemian oskarżają owe ja lub go bronią. Cykl biały przypomina koncert chóru; nie istnieje tu jedna odpowiedź na pytania o pochodzenie i odpowiedzialność, ale wciąż na nowo spisuje się potworne prawa represji.

Opis

Athena Farrokhzad urodziła się w 1983 roku w Teheranie. Zadebiutowała w 2013 roku książką Cykl biały, którą przełożono na dwanaście języków i kilkakrotnie dramatyzowano. Zbiór wierszy Trado z 2016 r. jest wynikiem współpracy z rumuńską poetką Svetlaną Cârstean. Farrokhzad jest również krytyczką literacką, tłumaczką, dramaturgiem i nauczycielką w szkole pisarskiej. Jest jednym z najważniejszych głosów współczesnej poezji szwedzkiej. Mieszka w Sztokholmie.

JUSTYNA CZECHOWSKA (1979) jest tłumaczką literatury szwedzkiej, literaturoznawczynią, koordynatorką projektów literackich, autorką kilku wywiadów i antologii. Jest współzałożycielką Stowarzyszenia Tłumaczy Literatury. Od roku 2015 współtworzy Gdańskie Spotkania Tłumaczy Literatury „Odnalezione w tłumaczeniu”. Przekłada, co jej się podoba, między innymi prozę Tove Jansson, Idy Linde i Agnety Pleijel oraz współczesne szwedzkie poetki.
